Small Group Tutors

Our Mission - Strengthening Middle School Students

We focus on small group learning for middle school students. An intimate, positive and supportive group allows each student to progress academically through peer mentorship and collaboration. Fostering true love of learning leads to a more enjoyable path to understanding concepts.

Accountability to do consistent work to understanding concepts and have that reflected on quizzes and other interim scores is healthier and less stressful than cramming and reviewing right before larger final exams.

We meet weekly for the period: Fall or Spring semester; Summer period. Additional meeting with tutor(s) as needed are encouraged. All wrapped within a flat fee.

PSAT/SAT

Early Preparation (Summer Focused)

Can be a long-term stress reducer for students and families that want to work on standardized testing early.

Developing critical thinking and logic skills by tackling challenging problems earlier can boost problem solving abilities and confidence for future tests:

Long-term college prep advantages include building stamina, giving familiarity to test formats and test taking generally for other tests such as:

  • HSPT

  • APs

  • PSAT, SAT, ACT

Early exposure to standardized testing helps students get comfortable with high-stakes testing before it "counts" in high school.

Learning Method

1

Mastery-Based Progression through Frontloading

Allows students to master concepts and advance with flexible group learning rather than moving at a rigid schedule.

We preview students' actual curriculum before the school introduces the topic. This upfront work can increase understanding and learning when students cover the concepts in the school classroom for the first time.

2

Coaching for
Accountability and Goal Setting

Weekly check-ins to set and review personal academic goals.

Reinforcing praise and encouraging reflection leads to resilience and confidence.

3

Peer Mentorship and Collaboration

Students can discuss and teach each other to solidify learning and build confidence.
